Life’s Progression

When I think of progression I think of how it symbolizes the sun. When I think about the sun, I’m reminded that it is constantly in a state of motion across the sky, the sun radiates different hues, invokes emotion and interacts with the elements.

The sun also rises, and the sun goes down, and hastens to the place where it arose.

Ecclesiastes 1:5 (NKJV)

Let me first begin with that I didn’t intend to take a month off from writing, but looking back it was exactly what I needed. My church was heading into our first Dream Conference and I was brought into a season of deep prayer, and after the conference I couldn’t stop thinking about the word progression. I always thought of it as these big milestones, landmark moments that are easy identifiable, but progress is so much more than that. It’s about staying in motion towards the goal or dream that God has set out for you to accomplish.

Progression consists of ups and downs, trials and tribulations, but it also means rising up again. It means rising up from the ashes of failure and disappointments. When your progressing you’re able to look fear in the eye and not let it hold you back from expanding your borders. Progression means stepping out of your comfort zone and being open to being stretched. Progression means keeping your eyes on things above and having a “kingdom level” perspective; it’s about taking along others with you as you progress.

Like the sun, will you move across plains, mountains, and oceans? Like the sun, will you rise up tomorrow for everyone to see?
