Day 4 – 12 Days of Blogmas | Homemade Christmas and Thank You Cards

Athaleyah | Living Waters Lifestyle

Day 4 of Blogmas is officially in the books! The weather is getting colder, the air is crisp and I’m genuinely getting excited for Christmas and some time off from work. It gets pretty dark out by the time I get home so this project couldn’t have come at a better time. Arts and crafts anyone?

My husband and I got married in May and in the afterglow of receiving our photos we (I) rushed to get our thank you cards printed. Once they arrived, they sat on the kitchen table, then they got moved to my office, and sat on my desk… and sat there for months. It wasn’t until a Saturday morning in which I was cleaning my office that I remembered we didn’t send our thank you cards! Refusing to waste them, I came up with the idea to send them out as Christmas AND thank you cards. We took a photo in our pajamas to tie in the Christmas theme and currently I’m adding my own creative touch by doing some calligraphy on the envelopes.

Speaking of the photo, we actually took it in our living room because we have two huge windows that bring in a lot of natural light but with that comes everything else that’s in our living room – TV, lamp, shelving, etc. So I actually changed the background with Photoshop to this sparkle lighting for the background – and the final product looks amazing! During the holidays and even for birthdays, I love to do something unique and special for gifts and cards because I think its something that’s been lost in our culture.

I still have about 35 more cards to complete so it’s time to get back to writing! Stay tuned for Day 5 tomorrow!
