Instead of posting a video update to talk about the last month, I thought it was a good idea to go back to what I love the most and write about what has been happening. So let’s get right into it.
As most of you know, back in January I decided basically on a whim, and after months of being tired of being tired, I took the steps to get my butt back into shape. So what’s happened in the past month?
Investing in Good ‘Ol Sweat Equity
Sweat equity refers to the effort and toil a company’s owners and employees contribute to a project or enterprise – and the value it creates.Investopedia
Now I know that I don’t have a company or employees but I do have a project and value.
The project happens to be my long term health, and in this process I’ve been reminded that having the mindset of caring about my long term health is thinking of it as a marathon and not a sprint. I’ve been saying that a lot lately, but it can’t be anymore true. The value that I’ve seen in only a month has been tremendous. Not only do I have more energy and feel more balanced, but the pounds have been dropping at a pretty consistent rate. So much that I’m happy to say that I officially reached the 50% mark to reaching my goal.
I didn’t want to put a timeline on reaching my goal because I didn’t want to be discouraged if I didn’t reach it, but the progress that I’ve made is what fuels me to keep going.
Taking the Good With the Bad
Another great thing that’s happened this past month is that I’m learning to keep a positive mindset in the ongoing battle of the mind. Trust me, I have my good days where I feel like I have all this momentum and that I can absolutely punch the day in the face.
Then I have those days where I feel like a tub of blah… Embracing the good days with the bad days has been a challenge but one that I’m looking to remain positive about.
So in conclusion, here’s to the ups and downs in February:
|Thumbs Up||Thumbs Down|
|Increased energy||The “Blah” Days|
|50% to goal||Meal prep (Work in progress)|
|Rediscovering the fun in working out||Rediscovering that muscles get sore when you’ve neglected them|
|Vlogging! (Check out my latest video here)|
