#NowPlaying

To say music plays an important part in my life, is like saying I need food to survive. It’s just one of those statements that are automatic in meaning.

I’ve always had a passion for music. Essentially from the time I could remember.

I grew up singing in my church choir, and then began playing piano, (not by choice I might add) but I realized as I got older, the importance of being able to play. Because now it’s vital for when I write songs.

I listen to music when I’m happy, sad, bored, feeling stressed, studying, writing, you get the point. Music is very important to me. It says what I myself don’t have the words for.

When I rededicated my life to Christ, one of the first things I did was delete all of my old playlists. I knew I couldn’t listen to music about drugs, violence, or other dark themes. I had to delve into the “christian” music scene. Which has changed dramatically from what I remember growing up as a kid. Now there are so many artists out there that are making great music with powerful messages, and there have been so many times when I’ve come across a song and literally wanted to scream out to anyone who would listen that they need to check out a particular artist. That’s where this blog, and specifically #NowPlaying come into the mix of things.

#NowPlaying will feature five songs for the week that stand apart from the rest of the music I’ve listened to. It could be that I’m really feeling the melody, or it’s a new release, or that it’s helped me get through a challenging time.

The bottom line is that it’s all about showcasing the amazing people who are making amazing music.
